SO… I HAVE A QUESTION

How long have you been doing photography for?

When I think over all the weddings I have photographed, it feels alot longer than 7 years. I have done over 300 weddings to date, covering venues all over Ireland and UK as well as an occasional wedding in Europe and America to keep me on my toes.

Around the same time as starting the weddings, enquiries came in for some charity and corporate work. I have had the privilege of working with some of Northern Ireland's leading designers and am always interested in challenging my skills.

Is it just weddings you do?

No, not at all! Whilst weddings are the main source of work I also do:

  • Portraits; family, head shots etc

  • Corporate Work; working with businesses so their photos represent their business well.

  • Humanitarian Photography; I have had the fortune to travel, taking pictures for NGO's and charities focusing on the world they are doing in countries all round the world.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with:

Cameras: 2x Canon 5d Mk4

Lens: Canon 50mm f1.2, 24mm f1.4 35mm f1.4 & 135mm f2.0

In my office I work off an iMac, on the road I work off a MacBook Pro and for both computers I work of Adobe Lightroom CC.

How long does it take until we can see our wedding photos?

You of course get to see a small selection of the photos on the night of the wedding, but for the rest of the photos it really just depends on the time of year. During the summer, the turn around time could be 6-8 weeks but otherwise it could be 4-6 weeks. The standard process would be:

Wedding Day > Evening Slideshow > Photos placed in online gallery > High res copies sent out on USB

How does the slideshow in the evening work?

During the meal I back up the photos from the day onto my laptop  and work through a small selection of your photos from the day and prepare them for the evening. By the time your guests arrive, I will have set up a screen in the corner of a room.

Do you do engagement shoots?

Yes, they are extra as I feel not everyone wants them. The cost would be £200

Do you do albums?

Yes, I do, if you are interested give me a shout!

Do you need a meal in the evening of a wedding?

It should be the last thing on your mind! I am always prepared to sort myself out, however, if it is something you would like to do I wouldn't say no! ;)

Do you shoot alone or does someone shoot with you?

Mostly I shoot alone, I have shot with my good friend Tim of This Modern Love and it was fun. I find that I can get the majority of photos that I need with just me being there. If you would like another photographer to accompany me on the day, let me know and I can let you know how much it would cost.

Do you travel?

Yes and I have been very fortunate so far. I have weddings all over Ireland and the UK as well as Spain, France, Italy, Texas & California .

How long do you stay for on the day?

I make myself available in the morning, most of the time it's possible to get to both bride and groom. From there I just go with the day until I feel I have everything that is needed. I would say on average 10-12 hours isn't unusual.

Do you do group photos?

I can't promise all of them will be as exciting as this one but yes, I feel that the group photos whilst they may seem tiring are the ones that will stand the test of time, as they are the people in your life who you care about the most!

Do you have a studio?

I have a home studio that I use for small bits of work but also have a portable studio that can be brought with me on location.

Are you insured?

Oh yes, Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and all my equipment is insured!

What is your booking process?

Once I have received your enquiry, I place the date in the diary as an enquiry. You are then asked to fill in the online booking form. Once you have done that, I change the booking to a full booking, which means that I turn down any other work that is requested on that day.

What is the best way to pay?

I really don't mind. I increasingly find that online transfers are easiest but cheque, cash etc are grand!
